Closing Ceremony for the 2023–2024 Edition in the Basque Country
Last Friday, June 7, the closing ceremony for the eighth edition of Inspira STEAM in the Basque Country took place. Mentors, representatives from educational institutions, and the people who make the program possible gathered for a breakfast where we heard from Lola Elejalde of Innobasque-Basque Agency for Innovation; Oihane Aldayturriaga, from BBK; and Bizkaia Provincial Councilor Teresa Laespada, who highlighted the importance of the Inspira STEAM program because “it goes to the heart of education.”
Next, María Martín Barranco delivered the lecture “Building Bridges Between STEM and Language,” in which she emphasized the importance of using words effectively to advance greater equality. Finally, Lorena Fernández, in “The Invisible Bodies of AI,” discussed how AI must incorporate women’s experiences.
On this day, we want to recognize and thank all these individuals for their work, so that, once again this school year, girls and boys have been able to learn about STEAM careers and studies from local role models.
Thank you very much, from the bottom of our hearts, and see you next school year!
