Itziar Prieto and the Power of Connecting Emotions and Vocations
Behind every Inspira STEAM session lies a human story that transforms lives, and the commitment of our mentors is the cornerstone without which this project simply would not exist.
In her first year as a mentor, engineer Itziar Prieto decided to return to the classrooms of her own high school to share her career journey with the students. Her experience demonstrates that mentoring goes far beyond simply explaining a profession: it involves putting a face, emotion, and story behind the decisions we make throughout our lives.
By introducing 12-year-old girls to the diversity of engineering, Itziar helps debunk the false belief that technical careers are out of reach or exclusive to men, giving them the confidence to tell them, “You can do it, and you are worthy.”. As we look ahead to the start of the 2026–2027 program, we encourage more professionals to join us as mentors; your presence and testimony are the spark that drives change and opens new horizons for future generations.
