Irene Montserrat and the Generational Transition
The driving force behind Inspira STEAM is fueled by the enthusiasm and dedication of those who work behind the scenes to make each edition possible.
Irene Montserrat, who has been working as an intern on the project team for four years, guided by the vision of Mari Luz Guenaga, the head of Inspira STEAM, embodies both the passion and the generational transition in the management of this initiative.
Having grown up in a family environment with role models in engineering and architecture, Irene understood from a young age the value of having role models close at hand.
In her four years working on the project, she has seen the number of schools and mentors grow exponentially, highlighting the rewarding moment when former school participants now enter college classrooms or join the program’s team itself.
Convinced that “the future belongs to women,” Irene encourages us to continue working toward the new 2026–2027 edition and invites the university community to actively participate in coordinating the project.
