Celebrating 10 Years of Inspiring STEAM Vocations!
Last Friday, we had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate a decade of Inspira STEAM at the University of Deusto. Our project began in 2016 with a very clear purpose that remains as relevant today as ever: to bring science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to girls and young women, breaking down gender stereotypes and showcasing real role models they can look up to. Ten years later, we’re thrilled to look back and see that the impact is real. Along the way, we’ve reached more than 54,000 students thanks to the involvement of over 3,600 volunteer mentors and 550 schools, while also consolidating our presence in various autonomous communities and expanding our reach internationally to countries such as Chile and Argentina.
The celebration was the perfect opportunity to recognize and express our heartfelt gratitude for the commitment of all the individuals and organizations that have made this incredible journey possible. We would like to extend a special thank you to our mentors, who are the true heart of this initiative, as well as to the schools, partner organizations, and institutions that have offered us their unconditional support from the very beginning. This tenth anniversary also comes at a very significant moment for the entire team, following our receipt of the First Prize at the Ministry of Education’s 2024 STEAM Alliance Awards—a recognition of the leadership of a project that continues to contribute to building a more equitable society with greater opportunities for future generations.
We would like to reiterate our gratitude to everyone who joined us for this very special celebration and, above all, to those of you who, over the past ten years, have shown that inspiration can change the future of young people. With renewed energy after this shared decade, we continue to work every day with a firm commitment to ensuring that more and more girls and young women discover that STEAM careers are for them too and that they have a vital role to play in the technological development of tomorrow.
